Since 1861, With a Long Interruption
Three Generations, One Oven
Crumb & Crypt began as a modest bread shop on Hollowbread Lane, run by Elias Hollowbread and, after his death, quietly inherited by whoever was brave โ or foolish โ enough to relight the ovens. The current keepers, a family of night-shift bakers, reopened the doors a few years ago after noticing the chimney was smoking on its own each midnight.
Everything served is baked on the premises, between the hours of midnight and three, using recipes found scrawled in a flour-stained ledger left behind in the cellar. We have changed very little. Mister Hollowbread seems to prefer it that way.
